Within the expansive 2,000-hectare master plan of Barrosinha Agricultural Company, Monte das Obras is a 5-star hotel featuring 100 rooms from the reconversion of the old Workers’ Residence into a Hotel.
Located in a distinguished area, this project is designed to accentuate the architectural value of the existing structures while preserving the rich architectural and landscape heritage. The new extension is carefully integrated into the natural surroundings, ensuring it complements the existing buildings without overshadowing them. The development enriches Herdade da Barrosinha's extensive landscape and elevates it as a key tourist destination.
Drawing inspiration from the traditional architecture of Alentejo houses, our design reinterprets these classic elements with a thoughtful expansion to meet modern needs. This approach promotes a dialogue between traditional and contemporary architectural styles, ensuring the new structure harmoniously interacts with diverse elements.
The selection of buildings for demolition was conducted with precision. The site analysis involved a comprehensive evaluation of the area's historical importance and technical aspects critical to such undertakings. Adapting the existing spaces in the style of Casa Alentejana, the design transforms these areas into accommodations while thoughtfully enlarging them to meet the project's requirements. The hotel will feature 100 rooms, 81 newly built, with the remaining adapted from pre-existing structures. Additionally, the hotel will include a spa, restaurant, bar, lobby, indoor and outdoor pools, and multipurpose rooms. It will also offer 10 wooden cabins within an 800-meter radius, providing a nature-immersive experience for guests.
