ABSTRACT “Title” merges the existent urban context of Isokusen with the purposes introduced in the main masterplan.
URBAN CONTEXT The proposal is a building that takes advantage from the urban context, a shape generated by the topography. The building combines the sense of privacy of a single-family dwelling with the semi-public character of the shared spaces of an apartment building.
VOLUME The primary shape of the building is disrupted to allow public and green areas to enter inside the courtyard. The aim of the volume is to enclose a protected low-noise green space that can act like a meeting point between the different users and lifestyles.
LAYOUT The common spaces are located in the strategic parts of the volumes and spread through the building providing terraces and accesses in order to serve the different resident needs.
SUSTAINABILITY AND CONSTRUCTION SYSTEM The construction system of the building was thought in order to minimize the costs and to take the profit from the strong local industry. CLT, due to its easy way of assembling the prefabricated modules, provides a flexible organization of the interior layout and helps to control the environmental conditions reaching a comfortable temperature in every circumstances.
PROGRAM USE The proposal offers residents collective spaces at different scales. Each one of the three buildings has two common spaces: one of them faces the courtyard and only accessible through it, the other crosses the building creating an access from the main street to the inner courtyard.
TYPOLOGIES Structured around fixed services and circulation cores, the housing typologies are divided in three sizes: Small, Medium and Big.
