LANDSCAPED NEIGHBOURHOOD

LANDSCAPED NEIGHBORHOOD In a brand new settlement, the greatest challenge is to merge the opportunities that the city provide with the sense of intimacy of a home. The urban environment is a resource to develop a new way of living that mixes the comfort of a slow-paced homely life with the vivacity of the city.

The synthesis of this concept is a Landscaped Neighborhood. An urban neighborhood where a man-made landscape dissolves density and scale. An urban oasis that contrasts with the surroundings, where a new living experience is shaping the interior of a typical urban block. Gradually, from an urban scale to the intimacy of the home, a layered network of spaces enhance a sense of belonging, which is essence of the neighborhood, and, consequently, provide a place for self-expression in the city.

HOUSING REFORM The idea of a stereotypical family structure is a concept of the past. The contemporary household is an ever-changing structure - variable both in a long and short-term perspectives. With that in mind, it is urgent to accommodate different flat typologies in order to provide suitable living conditions for everyone.

Diversity, to accommodate diversity; Inclusivity, as a way to eradicate segregation; Individuality, in order to create a sense of belonging

CONSTRUCTION AND SUSTAINABILITY The construction is conceived in order to favor local materials, which are also environmental and economically sustainable. The structural system, in CLT, takes advantage of the prompt and easy assembling process due to the prefabricated parts. Suitable thermal insulation levels are guaranteed by a double layer of cellulose panels and fibre wood, in the opaque surfaces, and by a triple glazed window, in the transparent ones.
